Central Florida Contractors, Inc. traces its roots back to New Jersey, where the foundation of the company was formed through our father’s business, Tino Construction, a family-owned concrete contractor based in Middlesex County. Even after our father retired in 1978, the vision of continuing a family construction legacy remained strong.
In 1992, that vision became reality when an opportunity arose to revive the family dream. George left his position with Local #472 in New Jersey, and Central Florida Contractors was established in Ocala, Florida. The company relocated to Pinellas County in 1993, where it has proudly operated and grown ever since.
In 1998, George’s brother Lou stepped away from the business to serve as a Pinellas County Sheriff. However, the pull of the family enterprise brought him back to Central Florida Contractors in 2010, further strengthening the leadership team and reinforcing the company’s family-driven values.

In 2026, Central Florida Contractors proudly welcomed Justin Berglund as a partner, marking a significant milestone in the company’s long-term succession and growth plan. Justin brings decades of industry experience to the organization. His career began in 2005 at David Nelson Construction, where he and the CFC leadership team first worked together on major projects. He remained with David Nelson Construction until 2017, then went on to serve as a Project Manager with American Bridge on a major infrastructure project in St. Thomas.
In 2022, Justin returned to the United States and joined Burgess Civil, where professional paths once again aligned. Through renewed collaboration and shared values, it became clear that a partnership was a natural progression.
Today, Central Florida Contractors, Inc. remains a family-owned company built on decades of experience, strong relationships, and a commitment to delivering quality construction projects across Florida—positioned for continued success for generations to come.
